Choose the route that matches the question:

  • For a released person or an exact release record, use the full Goodhue search and records path, then submit the county public-data form if needed.
  • For community supervision, identify whether Goodhue probation or MN DOC supervision owns the case.
  • For a same-day roster change, read the limitations of Goodhue jail releases in 24 hours.
  • For a date or alert, compare the projected release record with Minnesota VINE at 877-664-8463 or Minnesota Haven at 800-657-3830.
  • For a particular jail, prison, juvenile placement, or federal system, use the facility pages listed below.
  • For a Minnesota prison record, use the MN DOC Public Viewer or contact DOC Records, Minnesota Department of Corrections, 1450 Energy Park Drive, St. Paul, MN 55108, at 651-361-7330 or CO-Records.DOC@state.mn.us.
  • For federal prison or immigration custody, use the official BOP or ICE locator rather than the Goodhue roster.

The Goodhue County Data Practices page provides public and data-subject request forms. Inspection is free, standard photocopies cost $0.25 per page, and a larger request may include staff search, retrieval, or compilation time. No flat release-record fee or fixed response time is published.

Request the Right Record Series

Goodhue County's retention schedule identifies several records that can outlast a web roster entry. Admission and release records remain for two years after discharge. Adult jail registers, which include admit and discharge dates and the discharge type, are kept permanently or transferred to the State Archives. Inmate history cards follow a similar permanent or archival path.

A focused request can also identify a local identification file, kept for five years after the last contact, or a prisoner property envelope showing the signed return of property, kept for two years after release. Naming the record series, person, and approximate booking period gives Records staff a clearer target than asking only whether someone was released.
